Visitor Update

Farm Sanctuary’s Cabins at our Watkins Glen, New York shelter are open to members May-October. We are excited to announce our new roomy Deluxe Cabin with a full kitchen and bathroom! (Not like the cabins, the deluxe cabin is available May-December.)

We’ve redesigned our cabins, which are fresh and bright with updated amenities like Naturepedic’s line of Vegan mattresses, which are made of certified organic and cruelty-free materials. Sleep peacefully and wake up to the rolling hills and sounds of Sanctuary!

A complimentary sanctuary tour is included every morning of your stay.

Our cabins are approximately 346 square feet and contain:

  • Two double beds
  • Sofa bed
  • Linens and towels
  • Dresser
  • A kitchen pantry including a mini fridge with freezer, microwave, toaster, electric water kettle, and Keurig coffee maker with a variety of tea and coffee
  • TV with DVD player (please note that our TVs have DVD players only — we do not have cable)
  • Wi-Fi*
  • Inside and outside sitting area
  • Air conditioning
  • Culligan water dispenser

Please note: The cabins do not have bathrooms. Restroom and shower facilities are located within a short walking distance of the cabins in the Sanctuary Center and are handicapped-accessible. They are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Your cabin — including the porch, the Sanctuary, and the Sanctuary Center are smoke-free environments. Smoking is permitted only in a designated smoking area near the Sanctuary Center.

*We provide free Wi-Fi for checking email and general internet searching, though we are unable to offer streaming at this time.

Deluxe Cabin

Our deluxe cabin is approximately 600 square feet and contain:

  • One bedroom with queen bed
  • Sofa bed
  • Linens and towels
  • Kitchenette including full size refrigerator with freezer, sink, full stove & oven, microwave, and a Keurig coffee maker with a variety of coffees and teas
  • TV with DVD player (please note that our TVs have DVD players only — we do not have cable)
  • Living area
  • Bathroom with shower
  • Front porch and fenced backyard with deck and seating
  • Wi-Fi*
  • Heat and air conditioning

At this time we are unable to accommodate dogs in the Deluxe Cabin.

Enjoy a winter getaway and the solitude of Farm Sanctuary’s Watkins Glen, New York shelter during the months of November and December. While rescued farm animals always outnumber human visitors at Farm Sanctuary, this is especially true during the winter months — you may find yourself as the only tour guest during your entire stay!

The Deluxe Cabin in Winter package includes:

  • Vegan hot cocoa & marshmallows
  • A complimentary signed copy of Farm Sanctuary President and Co-founder Gene Baur’s book Living the Farm Sanctuary Life: The Ultimate Guide to Eating Mindfully, Living Longer, and Feeling Better Every Day
  • Sanctuary guided tour with an opportunity to brush our goat residents, weather permitting
  • Cozy up with a book and a cup of cocoa, watch the snow fall, and take in the gorgeous winter Sanctuary views

Farm Sanctuary’s cabins at our Watkins Glen, New York shelter are open to our members from May to October.

A member is anyone who has contributed at least $25 to Farm Sanctuary in the previous year. If you are not a member but wish to stay in our accommodations, you can become a member with a donation of $25 or more at the time of reservation. If you are unsure of your membership status, you can email [email protected]. If you make a reservation and are not yet a member, you will be charged a membership fee of $25. In addition to access to our accommodations, a Farm Sanctuary membership keeps you in the loop. Members receive a subscription to our newsletter and special alerts about farm animal legislation. They’re the first to know about urgent rescues, important petitions, opportunities to speak out for farm animals, and more. Membership contributions are critical to supporting all the work Farm Sanctuary does on behalf of farm animals.

Early reservations are always recommended as the cabins do fill quickly. Reservations are required and payable in advance by Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express. We accept reservations for cabins for the current season only. It is not possible to reserve cabins for future years until the new seasons open.

Because of our unique location in New York’s Finger Lakes and the limited number of accommodations, we must adhere to set policies with regard to cancellations. Reservations must be paid in full to confirm your cabin. If a cancellation occurs, the following refund policy will be strictly followed:

  • If a cancellation occurs 30 days or more prior to the start of the reservation, a full refund will be issued minus a $35 administrative fee.
  • If a cancellation occurs less than 30 days, but more than 7 days prior to the start of the reservation, a 50% refund will be issued minus a $35 administrative fee.
  • Any cancellation made within 7 days of the start of the reservation is not eligible for any refund.
  • Cancellations are non-transferable.
  • In the event of a cancellation where some or all of the payment is not refundable per our policy, the payment will be used as a general donation to support all our work, and the gift will be tax deductible.

Please note: Transferring between rooms or from Cabins to Tiny Houses (or vice versa) is considered a cancellation and will be subject to the cancellation policy above.

Farm Sanctuary reserves the right to charge guests for the cost of repairing damage to its property caused by the deliberate or negligent act of guests of the Cabins and Tiny Houses at our Watkins Glen, New York shelter. Should this damage come to light after the guest has departed, Farm Sanctuary reserves the right to make a charge to the guest’s credit card provided at the time of booking, or to send an invoice for the amount of damages. Every attempt will be made to minimize the extent of those charges, and the guest will be notified immediately of the issue. Any significant damage that results in the closure of one or more Cabins and Tiny Houses for a period of time may also include a fee comparable to lost income.
