Nestled in the beautiful Finger Lakes Region of upstate New York, the rolling green pastures of Farm Sanctuary’s 275-acre New York Sanctuary are home to more than 600 rescued farm animals.
Our 26-acre Southern California Sanctuary — home to approximately 100 rescued farm animals — is located on a beautiful hacienda ranch in Acton, just 45 minutes from Hollywood.
Farm animals are among the most abused creatures on earth. Pigs, cows, chickens, turkeys, goats, sheep, and others suffer by the billions, locked away in places that echo with cries of terror and pain, places that reek of cruelty, dark places with unspeakable horrors.

A contribution of $25 or more entitles you to a Farm Sanctuary Membership for one year. Members receive Sanctuary magazine and access to our Bed & Breakfast cabins.

These efforts help advance our mission to protect farm animals from cruelty, inspire change in the way society views and treats farm animals, and promote compassionate vegan living.
As a result, in accordance with the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) guidelines and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) guidance, Farm Sanctuary allocates a portion of these expenses to fundraising and a portion to program services. As a nonprofit organization that is exempt from federal taxation, we ensure our donors’ money is spent as efficiently and effectively as possible.
