At Farm Sanctuary, we’re working across movements to “build the good” – just and sustainable food systems that support animals, people, and the planet. Here’s a look at some of what we accomplished together in 2022!

When we first started the campaign, we sometimes would go around during lunch asking people to sign our petitions for more plant-based lunches.

These options can provide relief for students who observe various diets for cultural or religious reasons, or those with food allergies or intolerances.

The USDA sought to dismiss the lawsuit, but a California federal judge ordered in March 2021 that the case should move forward, and ultimately, the parties were able to reach a settlement.

Together, we can raise awareness of the cruelties of factory farming and advocate for systemic change. Sign petitions and write letters to your state and federal policymakers to speak up for people, farm animals, and the planet.

Farm Sanctuary is excited to celebrate all our LGBTQ+ staff and community members and honor the many LGBTQ+ activists, organizers, and community leaders.

In July 2021, we joined farmer, worker, health, environmental, and animal rights organizations in officially endorsing the Farm System Reform Act (FSRA) (HR 4421/S 2332). This common-sense legislation restricts the expansion and abuses of factory farms, which have been proven to harm animals, communities, and the environment.

Animals have been dying in the mail for years. The USPS crisis is making it even worse.

Urge your U.S. representative and senators to cosponsor and support the Safe Line Speeds in COVID-19 Act; a bill that will protect animals, workers, and the safety of our food system.

This year, the U.S. Departments of Agriculture (USDA) and Health and Human Services (HHS) are working together to update and release the Dietary Guidelines for Americans—a process that only happens once every five years.
